Hi! My name is Alex Harvey and I’m the Wisconsin State DARE representative. This is my first year as a representative and I love it! I have a lot of big ideas about how to take DARE to the next level, but I’m also open to suggestions so if you have an idea let me know!
Just to give you a little background about myself…
I’m the oldest daughter in a family of five and live on a hobby farm outside Endeavor. I’m very involved in my school and community. I’m the president of the Douglas Doers 4-H Club, Co-vice-president of my high school’s Student Council, and junior advisor of the Portage Future Farmers of America. I’m also a member of Future Business Leaders of America and Columbia County Teen Court. I play trombone in the band and piano for fun. As for sports I play varsity volleyball, soccer, and barrel race my horses. I stay pretty busy but that’s the way I like it!
DARE has had a major impact on my life. I graduated from DARE in 2004 at the Endeavor Elementary School. I may not be able to remember the exact details of what I learned, but I know that doing drugs and alcohol is wrong! I’ve never drank or done drugs and that is something I am extremely proud of. I face the same peer pressure that all teens face and I know how tough it is to do what’s right sometimes. For anyone who’s out there, I want you to know that you’re not alone. There are people just like you who know that drugs and alcohol aren’t worth it. Don’t give in! If you need anything feel free to contact me. I’m here for you!
