Latest Survey Results - "We're still gaining"
The 2008 "Monitoring the Future" Survey's latest findings to be used with the D.A.R.E. Elementary and Middle School Curriculum:
- 8th graders who have smoked cigaretts in the last 30 days are: 6.8% = 7%
- 8th graders who drank alcohol in the last 3 days are: 15.9% = 16%
- 8th graders who used inhalants in the last 30 days are: 4.1% = 4%
- 8th graders who haved smoked marijuana in the last 30 days are: 5.8% = 6%
- 8th graders who used hallucinogens in the last 30 days are: .9% = 1%
- Alcohol (NC%), Inhalants (+.2%), & smokeless tobacco (-1.6%) dropped from last year (2006)
- Marijuana (+.1%) Cigaretts (-.2%)
Monitoring the Future is an annual survey of the behaviors, attitudes, and values of American secondary school students, college students, and young adults. Each year, a total of 50,000 8th 10th and 12th grade students are surveyed. Click on "Monitoring the Future" to see all of the results.
