FROM THE PRESIDENT
In the past few months we have been closing up the past conference. A big thanks to the northeast side of the state for being such a wonderful host. Thank you to all those that attended and those that couldnt, I hope you make the next conference. We have been working hard on getting everything in line for the next conference. We are back at Yogi's Park this year. They have had time now to iron out the bugs and are ready for a bigger and better conference. We have been busy also trying to find ways to raise money to help our local Dare officers and to help WDOA.
At the 2008 conference you will be told how this is all going to work and how we all can benefit from this. The money raised for WDOA will be used for better speakers for the conferences and workbooks for the offficers and anything else that is needed to help ALL of us and our programs. The money you get, you can use any way you wish for your DARE program.
I hope all of you had a great 2007 and are looking forward to a wonderful 2008. I had to give up my teaching for becoming sheriff in the past year. I love the sheriff gig but to tell the truth I REALLY miss not being in the classroom with the kids. Teaching DARE is the one thing in my life I will NEVER forget. The finger prints from food on your clothes, the hugs in the hallway, the smiling faces, and twinkles of innocence in there eyes. THATS LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know you have heard this before, but you all make a difference. Keep up the great work and PLAY HARD!!!!!!
See everyone at the conference,
Nancy Hove/WDOA President
